Château Terre Blanque, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, 2019

Ref: 00108/FR

About the producer

Château Terre Blanque was taken over by Odile and Thierry Bazin in 2011. At the end of their careers working for large companies, they found this recognised vineyard and with respect to the history of the estate, sort the guidance of Jacques Chardat, oenologist and owner of Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin, their neighbouring property.

Wine growing / wine making

The Terre Blanque estate is located on a 15 hectare plateau in the heart of the AOC. It owes its name to the white colour of the soil. This exceptional terroir is composed of filtering chalky clay soil and a sub-soil mix of limestone rocks and grey clay. The vineyard has the HEV 3rd level certificate and has begun organic conversion. Vinification at low temperatures to preserve fruit aromas. Before bottling, 20% is aged in barrels for 6 months.

Tasting notes

A beautiful deep red colour, this wine has a light spiciness and purity of red fruit. Great balance and finish.
Decanter WWA 2020 93 points and James Suckling 91 points.

Food pairing

Duck breast with porcini mushrooms, rabbit with prunes, haunch of venison, roast beef.
