About the producer

Château Pontey Lamartine is sitauted in one of the most beautiful terroirs of Graves, in the commune of Portets. The gravel over clay-limestone soils give this appellation its characteristic style. Owner Dominique Haverlan uses all of his experience of this Graves terroir, and the Bordeaux varieties, to make this superb wine.

Wine growing / wine making

Assemblage: Sémillon 40%, Sauvignon Blanc 60%. Élevage: In oak barrels (a proportion of which are changed out every year) and maturation on the lees for 6 months.

Tasting notes

On the nose this wine reveals lemon & grapefruit aromas. Soft textured, round and balanced, with a citrus & subtle herb character bringing freshness and depth.

Food pairing

Chicken tarragon, hot-smoked salmon, fennel & potato gratin, fish pie, fish with butter, caper & lemon sauce, truffled Brie.
