Château Haut Rouchereau, Bordeaux Supérieur, 2019

Ref: 00289/FR

About the producer

Château Haut Rouchereau, located in Saint-Antoine-du-Queyret in the south of Gironde, is managed by the GAEC de Rouchereau. The vineyard lies on clay/limestone soils in the heart of the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation and benefits from a temperate oceanic climate favourable to grape ripening. Mainly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the estate highlights the typicity of its grape varieties through balanced wines that combine fruit and structure.

Wine growing / wine making

50 hectares of vineyards. Average vine age of 33 years. Mechanical harvest and fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats.

Tasting notes

The colour is a deep, luminous purple. The nose reveals aromas of plum, Morello cherry and blackcurrant, lifted by subtle spice and a delicate hint of violet. On the palate, the wine is ample and well structured, with fine balance, appealing intensity and a smooth, lingering finish.

Food pairing

Cold cuts, confit de canard, veal, roast beef sandwiches, stuffed mushrooms, wild mushrooms on toast, Comté cheese.
