About the producer

Based in the heart of the Languedoc in Lezignan-Corbières, Domaines Auriol is a family-owned winery set up in 1995 by Claude Vialade. As the daughter of a former wine estate manager, wine has always been second nature to Claude. Today Domaines Auriol is a producer as well as a négociant who prides itself in its Occitan roots. Domaines Auriol is also one of the largest producer of Organic wines in the area and has been very proud of its environmental credentials for the past 25 years.

Wine growing / wine making

This wine comes from the Bas-Armagnac region of South West France, at the western edge of the Gers. The soil, consisting here of “fawn sands” and the clayey loams known as boulbènes, creates conditions for producing fine wines of great elegance and fragrance. Yield is at around 120hl/ha. Harvested by machine, following a strict selection by terroir. A few hours of steeping the grapes in the press with protection against oxidation, then pressing, maintenance of cold temperatures for 5-7 days, settling and decanting, low-temperature fermentation, and finally, maturing over fine lees in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.

Tasting notes

Fine aromas of exotic fruits, pink grapefruit and lemon. The palate is refreshing with luscious fruitiness and aromatic complexity. The finish is both invigorating and fruity.

Food pairing

Tapas, fish soup, tomato salad, Greek salad, asparagus, sea bass roasted with fennel, oysters, shrimp, fresh goats cheese.
